Description

Run bigger, taller batteries in your Arrma Mini Kraton with a simple drop-in upgrade. This carbon fiber battery latch and Kevlar strap replaces the stock latch and clip, giving you extra height and a stronger, more secure hold in minutes.

Our latch is precision-cut 4mm carbon fiber, paired with a 3D Abilities Kevlar strap. The kit includes a longer screw + nut and a spacer buffer that sits between the chassis and the carbon fiber plate for added support and strength. Install time is typically under 5 minutes.

Installation Guide

What you’ll reuse from stock

  • The latch pin from the stock latch (you will reinstall this pin)

What’s included in the kit

  • 4mm carbon fiber latch

  • 3D Abilities Kevlar strap

  • Spacer/buffer

  • Longer screw + nut (and any included hardware)

Step 1: Remove the top deck

  1. Remove the interior chassis top deck screws (a little over a dozen).

  2. Lift out the interior top deck (ARA-2720).

Step 2: Remove the stock latch parts

  1. Remove the stock clamp hook from the top deck.

  2. Remove the stock latch from the chassis.

  3. Set both stock parts aside.

  4. Remove the pin from the stock latch and keep it (you’ll use it again).

Step 3: Install the carbon fiber latch + spacer

  1. Place the spacer and carbon fiber latch onto the top deck in the same position shown in our photos.

  2. Secure the carbon fiber latch using the included longer hardware (screw + nut).

Step 4: Route the strap

  1. Route the Kevlar strap exactly as shown in the photos.

  2. Tip: the strap can be removed later, but routing it is much easier while the top deck is out since the chassis is tight.

Step 5: Reinstall the top deck

  1. Reinstall the top deck into the chassis.

  2. Reinstall and tighten all screws.

  3. Install the longer screw (M2x20) in the hole near the motor, closer to the drivetrain.

Step 6: Final strap connection

  1. Loop the Kevlar strap through the stock latch pin you saved.

  2. Strap in your battery and tighten as needed.
