Description
Your battery is the one thing you don't want moving mid send. This 4mm carbon fiber plate locks it down and takes the abuse so your chassis and pack don't. It drops into the battery cavity, holds the pack with a three strap system, and secures underneath with low profile 7075 aluminum bars instead of the loose nuts most plates leave dangling under your chassis. Every mounting hole hides under the plate once installed, so the top stays clean with no exposed hardware.
Thicker where it counts.
Most plates run 3mm. At 4mm, this plate is roughly 2.4x stiffer in bending, which is real rigidity and impact resistance over the pack at almost no added weight. That stiffness is what keeps your battery from flexing the tray on hard landings.
Cleaner, lower underside. Instead of four separate nuts poking out the bottom of your chassis to snag on obstacles, this mounts with two 7075 aluminum bars sitting only 4mm proud. Fewer catch points, lower profile, and a finished look under the truck.
Triple strap hold. Two 20x250mm side straps plus one 25x650mm strap over the top. Three points of retention instead of the one or two you get elsewhere. The pack is not going anywhere.
Color options. Straps and bars available in multiple colors, with orange and purple straps coming soon.
Your color choice applies to the long top strap and the two underside bars. The two side straps are white on every kit. Silver and black selections ship with white straps as well. Want a specific combo outside these defaults? Leave a note at checkout and I'll do my best to match it.
X-Maxx and XRT have two separate battery trays. For a matched setup on both sides, order two kits. Each kit covers one tray.

Installation
You will need
- M4 (3/16") drill bit
- 2.5mm hex driver
*Note on drilling: this plate mounts with four holes through your chassis battery tray. This is a standard permanent mod for a setup this rigid, and once installed every hole is concealed under the plate. Take your time on step 3 and keep the bit straight. That one step is the whole job.*
- Open the package and grab your drill and M4 (3/16") bit.
- Set the plate into the battery tray. On X-Maxx and XRT there may be slight play in position. This is intentional and lets the same plate fit the Maxx V2. It has no effect on strength or performance.
- Mark the four hole locations with a sharpie. Drill through the chassis at each mark. Keep the drill perpendicular. Off angle holes make the aluminum bars hard to line up.
- Flip the plate so the countersunk holes face up. Install the screws through the plate and thread on the locknuts. These locknuts act as spacers under the plate so your straps can slide and adjust once everything is together.
- Position the straps to get sandwiched under the plate. The two shorter straps sit in the side indents. The long strap runs across the top, hotdog style.
- Lower the plate and hardware into the battery cavity, lining the four screws up with your drilled holes. Holding the straps with one hand while you press the plate flat with the other keeps everything aligned.
- With your 2.5mm hex, drive one screw through the chassis just until the tip pokes out the bottom. Do not run all four down yet. You need to catch the aluminum bar first.
- Line the aluminum bar up under the chassis with the screw threads and drive both screws home. Repeat on the other side.
- Drop the battery in and loop the straps however you like. Two on the sides with the long one over the top is my go to for lockdown.
